The South Bay Music Symposium is an annual, specialized two-week summer camp in which students work on their tone through breathing exercises, rhythm studies for playing more precisely in an ensemble setting, music theory, and audition techniques. Students experience individual attention in a sectional setting, small-ensembles, as well as large group ensemble experience.

Education Director, Edie Rice uses the California State Curriculum Standards for Music Education to create the content for the symposium. Other Los Angeles area music professionals are hired for special performances and clinics, as well as sectional rehearsals.

The South Bay Music Symposium is open to all band students in the South Bay with 1 or more years of playing experience.
